Marion in  the motel

When Marion stood in that room ranting you can easily identify the objects in the room. One area of misc en scene is props. The props are used in an innovate way to portray to the audience true character of Marion. The birds of prey should the alter ego of Marion. It shows how the birds prey on their food Marion prays on the young lady. 

The owl is a nocturnal animal, meaning it only preys at night. The owl being the most obvious could mean the director wanted to show the audience that the alter ego of Marion was to be most prominent at night.

Furthermore, the candle that was in the middle ground is not lit up. This can represent the 'cold' atmosphere in the office and this an indication of the tension between the two characters.
